Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer which grows as skin tumor and cause serious changes in basal skin cells. It is becoming more common, perhaps because people may be spending more time outdoors. Basal cell carcinomas are the result of sun damage to the skin.
Types of Basal Cell CarcinomaThere are several different types :
* Nodular Basal Cell Carcinoma
* Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma
* Morphoeic Basal Cell Carcinoma also know as sclerosing
* Ulcerated Basal Cell Carcinoma
* Pigmented Basal Cell Carcinoma
Signs and Symptoms of Basal cell carcinoma
most common appearance of basal cell cancer is that of a small dome-shaped bump that has a pearly white color. Followings are some common symptoms -
* An abnormal change in skin growth, or bump located on the face, scalp, backs of ears, neck
* A shiny bump or waxy appearance
* A pink growth or reddish flesh colored patch
* A nodule flat or slightly raised
* A visible blood vessels or an open sore in the lesion.
* A scar like area which appears shiny or taut caused without any history of injury to skin.
* A non healing sore that bleeds.
CAUSES of Basal cell carcinoma
Exposure to UV radiation is one of the major factors that have increased skin cancer. In a few cases, contact with arsenic, exposure to radiation, and complications of burns, scars, vaccinations, or even tattoos are contributing factors. More than 85% of Basal skin cancer is caused due to the exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
Basal cell carcinoma TREATMENT
The treatment varies on various factors like size, location and cause of infection. Other treatment methods, such as cryosurgery, radiation therapy, and laser surgery may be used in specific circumstances.
It can be removed by following treatments:-
. Scraping off the growth
. To sear with a caustic
. Surgical removal or laser surgery
. Cryosurgery – Liquid nitrogen is applied which causes freezing.
. Radiation and x-ray beams.

* Splash your face for up to 5 minutes with water including your eyes.
* Mix one teaspoon of salt in a pint of hot water; apply pads soaked in the saline solution on the puffy areas.
* Take Raw cucumber slices,potato slices and apple slices and place them on closed eyes and lie down for five minutes
* The hemorrhoid ointment acts as a vasoconstrictor, relieving the swelling instantly
* Dip two metal spoons into cold water. Freeze them for a few minutes, and apply them to your eyes; the spoon shape will fit perfectly into the area around your eyes, and the swelling will go down.
